Yes, I Just Might Glow
©2000  Christopher Ward

Contemplation
of a cloudless sky,
  lends my weary mind
   a vision!
I see myself
   ...compressed...
      between the crescent arms
  of a waning, opal moon.
Held a-high,
I'm ssppiinniinngg,
    -around-around-around-
Shooooooooooting out,
   -into the heavens;
  swirling      through the night;
           wading,
hands o u t s t r e t c h e d,
    I sieve through stardust hope!
Then catch the faerie train,
   across the milky waves
         -of darkness.
Chasing       dreams of life,
    dancing in the spotlight
       of love,
   shining
      just for me!
And finally,
                       I'm back again,
straddled point-to-point;
      So framed,
against this shadowed backdrop;
yes,
   I just might glow.

You had me reaching for the sky with one, I was bouncing upon each word and for a breif moment I felt a little bit of pure child euphoria. Thanks.

Very creative; hard to read but worth it.

WOW...
...WOW

and you did this piece of art without editing.... you are a master craftsman...

content and form... I am found to be lacking superlatives befitting this masterpiece...

simply will say... enjoyed it a lot....

Looks like you ARE glowing, Dearie ~

We can always count on you to take us there, my friend. Thanks for the ride.

Sharon - to see you smile would be a dream come true!   I know, m'friend, I know!

Krista - Thank you m'lady... and for everyone, this was put to the font "kids.ttf" It will substitute (I think) Courier New if you don't have it. Still interesting, but not as much as in that font!

S'en - We've been over this. I'm the boss! I do what I want!   Thanx lady!

DA - Thanks, glad you liked it!

Abe - A compliment indeed! Thank you lackey...err.. m'friend. LOL

Walt - a-yuh...outta there... thank yuh!

Jenn E - Well I'm allllll happy you liked it!   Presentation is important sometimes...  no, all the time!   Thank you!

insect - Colourful is my middle name! Thank you!

poutprincess - Glad you didn't waste your time

K - innnnnnteresting response...

Jeffrey - I'm not surprised in that slightest that you were the first one to ask! I'll explain in a few - see below and thanks!

Brian - Thank you, and you reminded me of a saying I saw somewhere. I think the author was unknown: "Reach for the moon. Even if you miss you'll be among the stars." Just wanted to share that!

Jamie - LOL.. thank you... I'm sorry it was a bit difficult to read.. perhaps 'cause you're a bit too sane. See, we.. ummm.. less than stable people think in a such a skewed manner that stuff such as this seems second nature!

Sudhir - Ahh m'friend, I must admit... I cheated a wee bit! I wrote the code out before and and saved it to verify that it looked the way I wanted to! LOL.. actually anyone can do that. Even with just notepad! You just save it as file.html, and when you click on it, your browser will open it!

S. - Yeah, yeah... excuses, excuses!

Claire - Glowing in response to you m'lady! May I never let you down!

H. - Yeah, I like that one better too!   Hmm.. no, I don't think I've ever done something liek this before. Kind of just.. LOL Thank you lady!

And to you Shiny one - Actually Jeffrey disobeyed too! LOL. Thank you for your help looking for the crayons!

Hmm.. how to explain... I don't know. At times, I suppose, we all get bummed. Whatever the case is, things bring us down. I was in one of those moods when I picked up the digital pen for this one. I was tooling around with some phrases and the title came into my head. Then I actually did envision myself acting out the events in this poem. It was the most uplifting ride I've been on for quite a while! It turned out to be an incredibly fun adventure that helped drag me out of too somber of a mood! It was even more fun to format this into a crazy, kind of wild cacophony of light and size. LOL... I really thank all of you who enjoyed this with me!

Chris

Don't ask?

Um -- OK, I won't.

And you're right -- but then again, I always knew you were a bit on the tacky side ...

As far as glowing -- you go right ahead.  You deserve a good mood now and then, even if you express it a bit garishly ... hehehe

Well this was an interesting read. I think I got dizzy near the start, which isn't a bad thing, it seem to go with the piece when I shock my head a few times..

Thanks for that tip on the html file saving, never would have thought of that way of doing it. I guess you find these shortcuts being a techno-crayon master.

A great piece Christopher....
