Friend...
For days uncounted
You have been lost;
Roaming seldom seen passages
of your own heart,
Vainly reaching
In the darkness,
Withdrawing your grasp
and holding nothing.
And then you see a light;
Eager for the warmth,
The beautiful light...
You run so fast,
Try so hard,
And let logic step aside,
Just for a moment,
And let slip;
Your dreams come tumbling down,
And all sight leaves you:
You are again lost;
Lost sight of the future
Lost all care about the past...
Loss for words, and a .44 in your hand....

Ah, how well we know the pain of watching a friend in trouble, desperate. Life... so difficult... sometiems rewarding, sometimes not. I guess we all just do the best we can. Your words for your friend show your heart... that you care and are worried. I'm positive your friend appreciates this, knowing that someone else cares enough to notice their pain.

Welcome to Passions "romantic fanatic!" There are many friends here as well. I know I for one will be looking forward to more posts by you!

Hello romantic fanatic....

        It is good to read words of caring
   from one friend to another. Your friend
   should feel very fortunate that you're
   standing by.....that's hard to come by
   (everywhere but right here!!)

           Welcome to Passions,
                the place where friends
                      share and grow!!

I have but one goal in
life.........
To make you smile!

Deep Deep sighhhhhh...Welcome romantic...

I can relate  to your friend except  for the .44..when I felt this way a while back

Self-Loss

Maybe it's the loneliness
The words of silent love
That once when heard
Had filled the space
That's emptiest now of.

Maybe it's the noiseless sounds
That fill my head with doubt
The lack of touch,
Caressing skin
The loving done without.

Maybe it's the loss of you
At least so says my mind
The busy always,
elsewhere though
I've losses I can't find.

Maybe it's the loss of me
The one of years back when
A smile was all
I needed shared
to love and love again.

To me it's now a searching game
Of hide and seek, you'll find
I'm always writing
words of wish
Of memories left behind.

~~soft smiles
Maureen

Very well put.  I have been there, or close, myself...and you put it into words very well.

Welcome to Passions!
This is so powerful.....the last line of course knocks the wind out of you...To watch a friend go through this is harder than going through it yourself I think....atleast it is for me.  I'm looking forward to many more......An excellent entrance~

I was once much like the friend you write about.  It was only because of the people who love me that I could close that chapter of my life.  People at that point of depression don't realizes that the ones they love love them back.  You've proved it nicely in this poem.  And if by any chance you have written about yourself without admitting it(I sometimes do) remember, people do love you.  You have many friends, some right here at Passions.  Great first post.

Hugs and Kisses,
Paula

I think everyone can relate to the "roaming", then the spark of hope, and the eagerness....then the fall.  Seems to be the cycle we all live over and over...You really portrayed some deep thoughts in this.  I felt it.  Welcome, as the others have said, and I too, will be looking for more of your works!  Thanks for sharing such an emotional piece.

Without the experiance of love where would we be? We would have no memories to cherish.
With love it brings hurt with hurt bittersweet memories.
