A  Simple  Thought
~~~
I  sent  a  thought  to  cyberspace
to  see  if  it  would  grow
It  vanished
lost
without  a  trace
A  blink
and  it  was  so
A  simple  thought  from  simple  me
solicits  no  reply
The  bitter  truth
disturbs  content
and  stings
the  strongest  eye
~~~

Nothing's Simple
to Me

A simple thought you send in air
I must have missed it,
though

My eyes are bright
with hazel sight
I look for all
and so

If words and thoughts of yours
passed by
without a blink
of eye

Just point me where
the thoughts you  share
are resting,
thus, will I

couldn't resist
Maureen

A simple thought lost in the
meandering nothing of computer technology,
This thought just born can not be recreated
word for word, it maybe transmitted again
with holes not perfect just broken
like a child still born, a phantom thread,
still while the first poem may be dead
this one is just raising its head.
It is a fine replacement instead.
=======
Taking MM lead and responding in verse. by the way really enjoyed the poem.

Lost, dear Sir, oh no, replay
every thought ever said
had it's very day...

and if you think it lost, then
look, I've it here within
my hand

and beg you Sir, just ask
and see
it's yours at your command...

[I couldn't resist, either!]

I've been posting here since January ... I know I said it then and I'll say it again now ... You people are the best friends that anyone could hope for ... your heartfelt replies to this poem have gone a long way to turn the tides of sadness ... some of you even went to the trouble of writing some verse ... that speaks a lot of the calibre of friendship that Passions promotes.

I'd like to explain a little about what prompted this poem so that you don't somehow think that it was Passions that disturbed content ... Over a month ago I sent some work into a couple magazines ... I've never heard anything back ... not even a "sorry but your stuff is not what we're looking for"
I try to tell myself that they are just too busy to reply ... but it doesn't help
Thanks again everyone ... your friendship shines like a new dollar

Well, Rex...I'm sure glad it wasn't us... PHEW....

I'd hate to think I missed something... I'm thinking of submitting stuff too... Time to put on the "I can deal with rejection" hat...

hey!  i really like the idea behind this...a little thought in cyberspace...that's pretty cool!  i was thinking it was passions myself, but your reply cleared that up pretty quick...i'm starting to feel the same way about this place...(that's a point for you, y'know)
...send it to another mag...playboy's pretty selective, eh?   lol

Well, if it makes you feel any better, Rex, the same thing happens to me all the time...I follow all the guidelines presented by the place that I submit pieces to, along with a cover letter, and the self addressed stamped envelope, etc. I had a couple of rejections....."sorry, not what we're looking for" (and I only submitted to places that accept form and rhyming poetry...one wonders what they could possibly be looking for....hehe), but the majority, I've never even gotten that courtesy....and for some it has been over a year, and still no reply. Don't let it get you down. Your stuff is good, and one of these days, someone with taste will read it and publish it!

I know how you feel Rex but some of these mags have so many submissions that they can't handle them all.
Picture youself as an editor for a magazine and having to choose from all the wonderful poems here at Passions (like Ron's doing now)
to fill a small alloted area for poems in your magazine....no easy chore I'd say.
wonderful verses here... I think they are quite appropriate to your situation.

By the way I have read a lot of your work and you are deserving of an answer at least. You are an excellent poet.

Kit ... I enjoy your poems ... you have no need to be shy where talent is concerned ... just submit some of them and as ethome explains ... you might be the lucky one that he picks

AVANTI ... thankyou

ethome ... thanks for your support ... I wasn't having much luck telling myself that, when I wrote this ... I know you are right
and thankyou for the kind words ... glad you enjoy my poetry

Years and years
and decades ago
I wrote of what
I knew to know

"not what we
are looking for"
and quickly shut
an open door...

I figured age
would give sage
and some lament
of wisdom spent

but ne'er did
I see reaction
until I came
to be at Passions.

I think, Rex, that many of us feel as you do...
while I am not yet perfect in form and style,
at least the door does not close in my face
but remains open, and is indeed, a sanctuary.

wow do I know this or what?  it is so funny how other things, even when you pen your soul and find no response, you can make excuses for it, but when you send a simple thought, and find nothing in return, it hurts.....great writing

Hi Rex,

With a heart of gold like yours there is simply to much love in you to be simple, I submitted one to a mag. it took like five times the time to get back to me with the words not what we need at this time I even moved during that period of time so don't fret my dear we all LOVE ya so much

This is a keeper by the way, putting in keep sake file

Sunshine ... you say it much better than I ... thankyou for sharing your kind sentiments

Corazon ... you're right about it being painful ... Like Nan said ... rejection is a tough hat to wear especially when we feel non existent

Cerenity ... thankyou ... and I love everyone back in kind ... it's tough not to feel as though part of a grand family here

   Never give up hope Rex! That just means that something better is waiting just around the corner! And they don't deserve the words you pen anyway

We accept them and love each one of them.
Disappointment is inevitable, but wait for the joy of being accepted. It will mean that much more to you!!!
