I've not heard from you in quite some time.
If I called you, would I be out of line?
I don't know why you drifted away.
But if I saw you, what would I say?

You're still in my mind and in my heart.
But time has passed and we grew apart.
I feel I was abandoned long ago.
Where are you, and why did you go?

I wrote you a letter that I never sent.
Telling you how much to me you meant.
I still have not forgotten you yet.
And though you're gone, I have no regrets.

Your heart was wild and hard to tame.
But since you've been gone, things aren't the same.
I need a soft place to land as our paths collide.
It's hard to find the words of how I feel inside.

This wasn't where we wanted to be.
But you'll forever be a part of me.
In the dim misty moonlight,
Thoughts are floating through the night.

I send this wish, from here to the nearest star.
Happiness for you, wherever you are.
So with thoughts of you and a wistful sigh,
In the gentle wind I whisper good-bye.

Eloise~
Goodbyes are sometimes so hard ...
and then to read the softness of this
is a gentle comforting gesture.

'In the dim misty moonlight,
Thoughts are floating through the night'

What a 'floaty' thought.
I enjoyed the sincerity of your heart in this piece.

Oh, Eloise,
           The line:

"I need a soft place to land as our paths
                   collide.."

That one is so descriptive, and I don't
know how many times I've desperately
wished for that very same soft place!!

          Excellent writing, my friend!!

I have but one goal in
life.........
To make you smile!

WOW---this is beautiful from start to finish.  The longing for answers and the pain of lost trust are very vivid.  Great read.

Thank you all so much for reading and writing.  They all mean so much.  Good-byes are always one of those difficult moments to get through.  But, up ahead there always seems to be a rainbow just waiting.

Sometimes it takes quite a long time to be able to say that final goodbye. Very beautifully written!

A person never wants to say good bye......reading this filled me with so much emotion. Why must people part?

Thank you Denise.  Always enjoy your kind words.

I agree Jenn.  But I guess it just part of the circle of life.

BDC,  thank you and I hope it all works out for you.  Good-byes are never easy.

This is an excellent goodbye piece, Eloise.
My favorite line was, "it's hard to find the words of how I feel inside." Great expression
and a very heartfelt piece.
