Bought my mind, but pawned it back
Something lost, and out of whack
Hold it out, and down the sack
Wasted knots, and foolish tricks
Played the song, and broke the set
Rocked it out, made them stick
Melody of mahem, and goddess of fools
Reached the top, to fall right through
Having a mind, is only a waste
Using it hurts, and gives off hate
Emotions of prison, lead me to pain
Nothing is right, but I still wait
Reaching the breaking, of my last point
Inside this tunnel, without a light

Courtney*
This is powerfully woven with ache and pain
as if it were written with tears.

Courtney
This poem is excellent, you held my attention from the very first line!

My 2 favorite lines are "Bought my mind, but pawned it back" and "Melody of mahem, and goddess of fools"

I am an frequent visitor to this tunnel too...

Hope it gets better for you..

courtney, interesting read.... though I believe that the light at the end of the tunnel is inside of us, and we can make it brighter even when it seems so dark.....

Loved the read.

This is a very powerful piece, Courtney. I feel your pain and I can sometimes relate to what you're saying too.

dear courtney,
i loved the first line.....boom!!!!!

and the poem rolled like a river rapids on my weary mind.....girl you got deep heart deep soul it shows,,,,!!!!!!!

i loved this extract :

Played the song, and broke the set
Rocked it out, made them stick
Melody of mahem, and goddess of fools
Reached the top, to fall right through
Having a mind, is only a waste

....i am enthralled and wide-eyed......
