Lily's Pond

~*Marge Tindal*~

She floats in graceful beauty
on a pond at the edge of the lawn
All the glory of her showing
opens on the dawn

Snowy white her petals
gracing pads of verdant green
Lily on the pond
most beautiful to be seen

None other has the etiquette
of this maiden of the pond
Lily smiles with easy grace
touched with magic wand

Dipping ever slightly
caressing the water clear
Lily dressed in vibrant color
draws the swans so near

What a lovely parade
as they glide across the lake
Lily's pond is blooming
with beauty for beauty's sake

You create a beautiful scene here. I especially love the part with the Lily dipping and the swans surrounding her.

Your words are a true delight to the
senses!! If I could paint, I would
       paint this scene....so peaceful, and
       delicate.
                 Wonderful does not
                    describe this!!

I have but one goal in
life.........
To make you smile!

Hey Marge! Beautiful flowing images. Another classic my dear poet friend.....They truly are beautiful - lily flowers on lily pads, what a wonderful work of nature and you have captured their beauty here.

Lovely Marge ... the title drew me in ... we have three ponds in the yard with several water lilies of various colors ... some that bloom only at night ... also a profusion of other water plants
Nicely done Marge

Sudhir~
I appreciate that it is so.

Tess~
Thank you for finding that little piece so enjoyable.

Beth~
Thanks for the sweet reply.

Sunny1~
This came about as the inspiration from
a friend in Canada who requested that I
view a page and see if it inspired a poem
about the lily.
I did .... and it did !
The gentleman who did the page wanted to
place it with the picture ....
Visit the link and enjoy .....

Thank you for letting me know.

Bonnie~
Take a look at the photograph that
inspired it ... and you will see
beauty and serenity for sure.

Kit~
Thank you - that means a lot to me.

ETHome~
They are inspirationally graceful for sure.
Thank you.

Martie~
Now you are there !
Follow the link, my friend.

Rex~
If it's half as lovely as the lily
in the photo sent to me ...
then I stand in awe at the beauty you behold.
Thank you.

The lilies in my pond have never look so beautiful as they now do.  You write with such color and detail and with so few words.  I am in awe of your talent and once again I find myself before you with knee bent and arm draped from right to left in slow gesture I bow.

What a lovely compliment.
To envision your bow ...
brings a smile to this lady.
I do not take the gesture lightly.
Thank you, Mark.
