Could not the wind be wrong,
to take me on this road.
A journey I did want,
one that would bring me home.

All my life I have searched for this,
wished on stars and fountains of blue.
I've been lost and then found again ...
on this hearts journey ... all my roads lead back to you.

My soul traveled through the air,
upon winds time of change.
Landing me to your door,
where I collapsed into your arms again.

You were always my safe harbor,
my sanctuary, my saving grace.
Your love was my quiet comfort ...
your words ... my poetic embrace.

And those moments that you gave to me,
where time knew nothing of its pace.
I lost my soul inside of you,
to which you keep its spirit safe.

In your eyes reflection,
I fell in to the depths of your intensity.
There I discovered my own depths,
and tempted both fate and destiny.

Yet fate took hold, as destiny did follow,
our hearts grew together as one.
And the winds new nothing of the coming sorrow,
for we understood the decision done.

In the quiet calm before the deluge,
hearts heard the whispers of another's call.
Love was swept away by the winds of change,
leaving all lost in the distance of the fall.

And fall I have into your heart,
the one that's loves and takes control.
On days from now I will wonder fast,
of all those may have beens we could have held.

To love without regret was my only wish,
and now I pray that you will someday understand.
Though ties that bind hold me here ...
from this day on, you hold my heart in your hand.

And it is our hearts and souls as one,
as I know I must let you go from my affection.
The wind that whispers in my ear,
shall always be our connection.

And it will be that same wind ... should fate allow ...
that will carry you back to my heart to stay.
Until that destined moment ... please know ...
not even Heaven's tears ... could wash this love away.

Thank you all for such glowing replies...
and thank you Michael for inviting me to write with you...
your gifted verses inspired me
and made my moody muse work hard to match them...
thank you for the inspiration...
I look forward to our next poetic endeavor.
take care all
