I wish I could alight with you Upon a flower and sip the dew And every day just watch the dawn And drift around in fields of corn Your painted emblems shining bright Your charming shape Your lazy flight Dry your spirit in the sun And when your glorious days are done Now fading when the summers cry And autumn’s clouds fill up the sky Perhaps you’ll whisper far above And that great hand commanding love Will grant a wish that when I die I’ll come back as a Butterfly Jon Mewett |
