Call My Name

From a far off horizon,
I heard you call my name,
in the instant of a heartbeat,
life will never be the same.

Have you ever wondered,
if all those stories could be true?
Words of songs, and lines from poems,
feelings that I never knew.

Sealed my heart against love,
stonewalled against the pain,
tried to catch the rain clouds tears
then I heard you call my name.

Against you I have no defenses,
from beyond the silver screen,
a voice that echoes in my heart,
a face within my dream.

My shadow drifted sadly,
until you sheathed it's steel-edged pain,
in the busy midst of my lonely life,
you gently called my name.

Tess, this is great - I can understand you so very well, because I felt like this for quite some time as a teenie - because I never got the ones I adored, I sealed myself away and thought that I didn't want to love and open my heart anyway... glad there was a special someone who taught me how to love... who called my name... *dreams on*

Tess~
This is so poignantly lovely ...

'then I heard you call my name'

What wonderful magic that phrase can have
when spoken from lips with love.

Thank you Beth and Marge for your kind words, and for taking the time to reply. It's always encouraging to know that at least someone is reading !
