I Fear the Night
(repost from open 5)

I fear the night,
not the darkness, not the shadows
that run from the moonbeams, searching light
but the evil of the moments, of their eternity
that creeping hand of time, extending, unrelenting.
I fear the night
Not the Quiet, Not the stillness.
that should bring me the comfort
Of my security, of my sleep.
But the thoughts,
of the Raven, of the kiss
the Raging dreams, of her passion
of her eyes, of her love
I fear the night,
not its coming, not its going,
the wish for love, for dreams, for Romance,
But the unknowing, of her distance, of her absence
that she may never really be, in my arms,
as I dream, in the night.

James Parker Haley

I'm so glad you re-posted this James ... this is just breath-takingly beautiful! Fearing the intangible ... the unknowing, should she not be in your dreams ... wonderful sentiments!

Best wishes,
/Kit

This is a familiar fear, Parker, and you've expressed it eloquently. Thank you.

of the raven, of the Kiss

hummm...I normally despise ravens themselves, but you made this seem something to anticipate...
