Lord knows we're not perfect.
I don't love just the perfect you.
I don't love just your pretty smile,
or your beautiful blue eyes.
I don't love just your delicious kisses,
or the desire in your touch.
Your earlobes are delectable,
and knees so ticklishly sensitive.
The list could go on forever,
your hair, elbows, bellybutton and toes.
I think, like any precious gem,
You have a fault or two.
Don't ask me to tell you what they are
I don't see them, I just see you.
They're part of you, so when you think
I don't like this part of me.
Remember the package deal
I don't love just that part as well;
I love all of you.

This is written for Jo Lynn. Partly in response to  Cherrymary's poem 'Perfect' that I shared with her today.

You know sometimes poets and the non-poets get caught up with the idea of perfection when it comes to their love.  Yet that kind of thinking is just silly when you think about it more and more.  I mean of COURSE we have our faults and i think your poem has done a wonderful job of making that clear  ...great poem..and WELCOME TO PASSIONS  .

my love is my inspiration
perception of this poem
is your interpretation"

Richard, such a natural, sweet missive to your "perfect for you" person. This is delightful in every way. A lovely first post, to be sure.
