Remembrances from yesterdays - Part 2

                 "Park revisited"

My thoughts went for a walk
Through the green woods
Where we once were;
They recalled the talks -
Memory's canned goods -
We had once shared.

Touched the park bench
Where you and I -
We once sat hand in hand;
Felt the crimsoned bench
Where you and I -
We met eyes' gazed demands.

Smelled the fragrant air
Where you and I -
We once had an innocent kiss.
Tasted freshness of the air
Where you and I -
We once had a moment of bliss.

They now walk in the woods
Alone looking around,
And just remembering,
The times that once stood
Stilled in its ground,
Now gone with steps faltering!

~

"Memories canned goods" is a terrific line...sort of like my "replaying tapes in my head" analogy.

Good stuff, Sudhir!

Sudhir Iyer,
Ah my friend, romance is in the air. Well done, your skills are excellent, your thoughts moving, and your pen worthy. A fine writing.

I really enjoyed this piece of work....it kind of reminded me of something Robert Frost (by the way one of my favorite poets) might have written

What lies behind us and lies before us are small matters compaired to what lies within us.

Jenova,
you are being too kind... Thanks...

Ruth,
I am so glad that you enjoyed... Robert Frost is one of my favourites too... reasons well known... but to be compared to that class of writing is a bit too much for me to gulp in a sip... thanks for your lovely compliments...

sudhir

Sudhir, your work is consistently unique. I love your "Memory's canned goods" metaphor here, and your reference to the differences in the passage of time.

"And just remembering,
The times that once stood
Stilled in its ground,"

This is sad, beautiful writing, my friend.
