The time has come gentle maiden
For this Knight to lay aside his sword
I have battled long and hard
And my body grows weary
    my arms are tired
    my heart seeks solace
    my soul longs to rest

I have travelled night and day
I have seen thy face in the sun
And thy eyes in the stars
Longing to touch thy cheek
    to hold thy hand
    to feel thy arms
    to caress thy lips

Hold me close now gentle maiden
Speak to me thy words, calming and tender
Take my heart into thy hands
My body in your arms
    my eyes to yours
    my hands to thine
    my love to thee

Oh my sweet Knight,
how I've awaited your
return home
to my passion and my hearth

So now rest ye in my arms
seek my heart for solace complete

Tend will I your soul
your hand to rest in mine
my arms will enwrap you as
my lips to yours shall meet

and you shall dwell in my eyes
as our hands will clasp
and in our love we shall rejoice

and you shall not weary
of your days to come
here in your home
here in my heart
here in my eyes
O my love,

Welcome home, good Sir.

WHAT!!!!!!!   Excuse me but being a Knight is not just a day job you know!!!!!!!   LOL

Poor Sir Sven, you have swooned through many a battle.  Rest my friend and fight another day.

Hi Sven,
I have read this one several times, it is so lovingly written and giving of yourself (to her). Sigh...boyoboy, if you were about thrity years older you could make some grannies hearts skip beats with this love poem for sure. Well done and good luck, hope she comes back so we can continue reading your love poems.
