Life plays tricks
   on us all
Making us believe there
   will always be tomorrow.
So you put off one
   more day
That difficult task
   you dread,
The romp in the park
   with the kids,
Or the moonlight swim
   with your love.
Til one day you
   wake up
And the task has gone
   to younger minds
The kids are grown with
   kids of their own
And your love is just
   ashes of an indifferent fire.
And now all you have left
   are yesterdays dreams.

"Yesterday. . .
All my troubles seemed so far away,
Now it looks as thought they're here to stay. . ."

You been reading my mind tonight Paula??  This is excellent, and sad. . .

Well done. . .

Geez Paula...i think the title needs some revising...maybe you could try "Yesterday's
Dreams  (bring yer kleenex)"
hmmm...
Great writing, again!

Paula*  There are several people in my life
that I'm printing this up for....too many
"wait till tomorrow"...I for one believe
that you should never wait to say "I love
You" or wait to share a moment of time with
someone. This held a beautiful message, great writing indeed~

And now all you have left
   are yesterdays dreams.
I thought that way but I now look to the future and what it may bring good as well as the bad
wipeing the eyes here

Paula...
You are so eloquent with your words,

"..your love is just ashes of an
                     indifferent fire.."

Too many couples end up this way,
because they forgot to stoke the
                   fire....

           Beautiful work, my friend!!

Paula, you just taught a class on Reality 101. This is an excellent piece. I especially like

The kids are grown with
kids of their own
And your love is just
ashes of an indifferent fire.

Thank you for sharing it. *S*
