Even though she has white skin
and I have black skin,
that means nothing
because, I really love her.
Every place that we go,
every place that we flow,
somebody see our skin color,
and think of us being together,
is like a living sin
because race mixing,
is something they don't believe in.
Well, I don't care,
what some people may say or think
because, I'm gonna stick with her,
through the thickest of thin,
no matter how difficult the situation,
that we may be in
because ever since she stepped into my life,
she's reversed the wrongs to right
and in the future, I plan to make her my wife,
as her love shines, like a ray of light.
Her golden-blond hair,
and her baby-blue eyes,
are only a glimpse of what truly belies
because, her true beauty comes from the inside
as she loves to go shopping at the mall,
as all the beautiful clothes,
seem to fit her like a barbie doll,
as her model-like physique,
is too flawless to critique.
She always make me smile
and I can't wait till we make a child
because, it's something that we feel,
will reflect the love,
between her and me
as we're more comfortable in public,
as we sometimes start kissing and hugging,
despite people glaring at us
because, we've expected it,
and we've accepted it.
I've lost some friends over this,
as my black friends get upset,
when they see me with my lady,
and quit talking to me
as it burns me and inferiates me,
that my friends can't let me be
because they refuse to realize
and get it in their minds,
that love is color blind!
People, why does your color,
have to matter,
in the name of love
because if I'm happy,
and so is she,
then lei it damn be!
Remember people, that God,
favors no specific color,
when he choses his women or men,
when it's time to go to heaven
so despite our different colors,
lets make peace and love one another,
like true sisters and brothers,
because love, has no color.

I basically made this up...but for good reasons...the reason being which is to deliver a message to you....a message that I hope you will get and find helpful.

Peace,

Nate,
I didn't think that you had made this up, I thought it was from personal experience, so the fact that it's fiction makes it all the more special.  I love the title, the concept of no colour.
Good poem..... I mean it

You've penned the message well Nate, the outside is merely a shell for heart and soul, how you act and how you love should speak loudest of all,  Wonderful writing~

Nate, this is so very true. Color never needs to matter....except to the small-minded.

It's like the poem about the mother watching her son playing outside with a black neighbor child.

"Was that boy black?" she asked her child
When he was only three.
"Gee, I don't know" the boy replied.
"Next time I'll look and see"

Out of the mouths of babes........

It's what's on the inside of a person that counts, for sure!

this poem reminds me of a poem i wrote myself a few years ago, i will also post it on here so you can read it. I am a white female with a black male and i also see that love has no color. I have a special bond with him that ive never had with any  man before. We even plan on getting married. as long as you are happy in a relationship no matter what others say you must keep your head up and stay strong. there is also a poem i wrote called erase the visions of hate ( it is posted) I wrote it dedicated to a freind who came from africa to america and was brutally killed by racist people. I think if people thought of things the way we do there would be less hatred and racism in this world. I loved the poem and I hope to hear more about this topic.

Maybe you can do Heavy Mental part 2 later, if not at least keep writing these poems. This one is beautiful and romantic. Color shouldn't matter, it's the person behind it that matters. That's what made this poem so great, to me, is that you expressed that very well.

I wonder IF we were all blind would color matter so much but God gave us sight to see the beauty of all the different colors. Color doesn't matter to me so few people find true love and that's what matters. To love and be loved is the greatest gift one could ever receive.

Nate...
I really am glad that you wrote this!
We all need to open our eyes...to see
the beauty of the individual, no
matter what race. We could learn a
       lesson from the children....they are
       color-blind until we teach them
       differently!!
             Excellent job......

I have but one goal in
life.........
To make you smile!

Very powerful.  Though it may be fiction it sure does reflect our society.  Great work once again

It is unfortunate that in this country it is still an issue.  I wish you both the best, it won't be an easy road.

Peace.
