I Know...

I watch you sleeping
and I know
the first touch on your skin
should be my own.

I watch you stir from sleep
and I know
the first kiss on your lips
will be for me alone.

I watch your eyes open
and I know
that sighed slow hint of smile
is for my eyes alone.

I watch your lips part
and I know
the warmth of your mouth
will lead me on.

I watch your eyes close
and I know
within your heart I have found
a place to call my own.

When watching someone sleeping you can know and feel so much and you obviously know this and feel this. I like it. Subtle yet passionate. Thanks!

Evan,

This was a great poem.  It is always so peaceful to watch someone you love sleep.  Bring to mind such tender feelings.  Very romantic writing here.  Welcome to Passions!!  Looking forward to reading more of your work.

Yes, Richard, you simply know all is as it should be when you even get a thrill out of watching her sleep! Thank you for the kind notice.

Thanks, Bill, you're always welcome, and I will do my best to keep you entertained with verse.

Lone Wolf, "peaceful"...perfect word for a perfectly tranquil feeling. Thank you for the welcome and the words of encouragement.

Paula, if this verse takes you and your love between night's sheets just a tad earlier...wow...mission accomplished!

Bought back all those lovely feelings you have when you're with someone you love.

Thanks, I enjoyed it

Tess, Rosebud, Martini,

Sounds like we're all incurable romantics!

Shhhhhhh.....I won't tell if you won't.

Thank you for taking time to read and respond...that you really liked is a big time bonus!! *S*
