When you said you loved me
Joyous tears rolled down my face
While my heart was flying free
You held me in a strong embrace

When I opened my soul and let you in
Trusting tears slipped down my cheeks
To explain the feeling...I can’t even begin
You and I floated to the highest peaks

When I was screaming in the night
Frightened tears were flowing free
You soothed and held me tight
Ceasing  voices that haunted me

When you made my dreams come true
Thankful tears flowed from my soul
You said I belonged to you
And together we would become whole

When trust was betrayed and lies told
Broken tears abounded from my eyes
Tarnished were the dreams of gold
Clouds of  regret filled the skies

The well of my soul has been tapped dry
The final tear drop has joined the sea
Never more will you see me cry
The salty waters rise and swallow me

Bdc-Heart wrenching words of the betrayal of the one you loved.  Don't stop stroking in that sea there girl we need you.  Rescue is on it's way.  Somewhere out there lies the heart that will beat with yours and keep you afloat with the joyous tears.  Beautiful write my friend just beautiful.

Butterflies~
My dear, dear, friend, I think we are on the same wavelength today.  Sometimes it's a little tough, isn't it?  Somedays I wonder why I even try to go on.  But then I see friends like you, and I know that I am not alone.  I do have the strength to go on, and there are more things that I have yet to do - both for myself and for others.  And it is so wonderful to know that there are others who care. (Thank you for your reply to my poem!)  I want you to remember that there is someone out here who cares about you, too!  With a friend like you, I may still be sad every now and then, but my moments of happiness are even brighter.  This is a beautiful poem,  my friend.

The well of my soul has been tapped dry
The final tear drop has joined the sea
Never more will you see me cry
The salty waters rise and swallow me

As long as I can help it, I won't let those waters drown you.

Love Ya~

~you reached inside, you touched my heart,
and I am all the better for it~

You have explored two different truths in this poem-one being the different meanings tears can take, the other the pain of human betrayal-and did wonderfully with both of them.

Wow. This some sad work. Sad but to the point and so unfortuantly real.

Seems to me to truly know happiness we must go through some times of unhappiness...but does it have to happen so often???

Wonderfully written BAF!

I agree with the others Butterflies...there is someone for you, someone who will stick it through to the end...It's sad to see anyone hurt so, but I always find that it increases the ability to express with different styles of language, words well known to poets. The hurt may still be there but you have an avenue of relief that others don't have and it helps....keep on writing I will be looking for you.

Butterflies,
What an emtional piece. It brought tears to my eyes. As amazing and wonderous love can be.. it can be so painful.  I have been there in the past.  Don't loose faith in love... I have emerged a stronger person and now have an amazing man who loves me completely.  I know you will too.

Butterflies, this really struck an emotional cord in me. My heartbreak and betrayal was over twenty years ago but the pain as real today as it was then. Your pen has served you well with this one my friend. Wishing you comfort and peace, Juls

Butterflies_dont_cry,
Butterflies are not suppose to cry, but I see that they do. A very nice writing that you have done Butterfly.

BDC,

You hit home with this one my friend.  Tears stream down my face as I try to type this reply.  So many meanings those tears can have.  You have expressed them well, Butterfly.  Fly forth free . . . I will be right there by you.  Great writing!!

Take care, Sweets.  **AW HUGS**

men are pigs women are evil and love stinks!
no...we know better than that...but, for the poet, sometimes it can feel strangly good to be put upon by love.   Just don't dye your hair black (lol) and keep smilin' BDC.

My dear sweet friend, such love, such pain! You know that I feel every one of your tears. The clouds of regret will clear and I know that the well of your soul is not yet dry. Excellent writing my friend, take care!
