How Will We Be Remembered?

Tomorrow is a new beginning for each of us they say
That all the world is a stage, we're merely actors in a play
But this play that we call life wasn't scripted with a pen
And it has a new twist in the plot around almost every bend

To be or not to be is a question that plagues us all
We have the choice to lie in wait or dare to take the fall
Where is the glory in waiting for life to pass you by
I choose to take the tougher road and reach for the sky

There's no such thing as tomorrow in my opinion you see
For when tomorrow does arrive it will still be today for me
So live life for today, make the best of every hour
In the play of life there are no rules, we've been given an awesome power

We have the power to choose our own destiny, soul proprietors of our fate
The choice to keep repeating history or to learn from our mistakes
The choice to reach for the sky or simply lie in wait
But how we are remembered is determined by the choices that we make.

Rose,
I like that title suggestion, but let's see if anyone else replies. And as far as finishing this piece I don't even know where to start....may take a little time.

this really hit me hard.
"The choice to keep repeating history, or to learn from our mistakes"
Now, I've heard that before, but when put together with the rest of this, it really got to me.
It's so easy to understand, and so very hard to do.
thank you for posting this.

I can learn from my own mistakes... I just wish I could learn from others who came before me. =)  Very nicely written.

"The storm rises up when the shadows descend
every beat of my heart every day without end
I will stand like a rock I will bend till I break
till theres no more to give if thats what it takes
I will risk everything I will fight I will bleed
I will lay down my life if thats what you need
every second I live thats the promise I make"

I have no idea who wrote this... tell me if you know. =)

Jeffrey - This is delicious -- what a
great way to view life - and so
eloquently put. I love this poem.
Thanks so much for sharing!

words of wisdom here Jeffery sir...
and most eloquently put...
very well written and thought out...
how did ya get to be so smart any way *smile*
thank you sir, for you most sweet and generous replies to my work.
I grow in your light.
take care, jm

Well the sun sets gently on your shoulders
And it makes me want to touch you there.
And the light in your eyes makes me feel
Like there's something much better out there
Something kind...
And I know someday I might be looking around
Trying to find some purpose
Well purpose it can't be that hard to find
As long as I've got the wind...
The wind and your love to carry me.

Words of wisdom, penned with eloquence.   Well done.

--Kess

Full fathom five thy father lies,
Of his bones are coral made,
Those are pearls that were his eyes;
Nothing of him that doth fade
But doth suffer a sea-change
Into something rich and strange...

Jeffery,

Yet again another master piece your poems just get better and better the more you write. I love the easy way things seem to flow to your fingertips as you write. This poem hit home, very elequent and very tru, very true indeed.
