Setting Sail

Let me come to you tonight
in the belly of a great winged ship
embraced by cirrus clouds
as I fly over mountains and valleys
to the ocean of your love

Let me sail to heaven and back
on the waves of passion that wash over me
with each gentle caress of your hands
while your lips on mine breath life
into my drowning soul

Let me explore all these uncharted waters
memorizing each and every part of you
in my eyes, hands and lips
rocked softly to sleep in your body
bathing in the afterglow
and floating on the sea of your love

To love means never to be afraid of the windstorms of life: should you shield the canyons from the windstorms you would never see the true beauty of their carvings. ~Elizabeth Kubler-Ross

Ruth,

I'm sorry I take awhile to do the bump. I like to see a few re:'s and then mingle in the bunch. But I think everyone's gone to lunch. I know if RJ's seen this she'd love it  as much as I do and I can see. So it seems it's time they know Owl's don't need light to see how to write good poetry.

WOW
BEAUTIFUL poem hoot-girl...
my my that muse of yours has been romantic of late
VERY NICE
take care, jm

Well the sun sets gently on your shoulders
And it makes me want to touch you there.
And the light in your eyes makes me feel
Like there's something much better out there
Something kind...
And I know someday I might be looking around
Trying to find some purpose
Well purpose it can't be that hard to find
As long as I've got the wind...
The wind and your love to carry me.

Ruth,

May the winds be ever at a reach and you always fetch the mark.

p.s. A toast to my fellow racing sailors before a Port Huron to Mackinaw race. It seemed appropriate here as well.

Take my hand and sail with me,
...upon love's passion ship,
Let me taste of satin lips,
...from forth sweet fountain sip,
As I hold you in my arms,
...I touch upon night's sky,
And sail the seas of all I yearn,
...whence thee I do espy,
Tarry not on rocky shore,
...come sail to welkin's blue,
To feel the depth of my desire,
...mine love I pledge to you.

Beautiful poem Ruth, hope you don't mind a little reply poetry...  *smile*

This is beautiful!  Mmmm.  Takes me there.  Now I know why Dale told me I would enjoy it.  I surely do.  Mmmm!

The sea of love that pours from your heart would set any ship to sail dear Ruth and with the winds of your words it would never require anything but you alone.  Dreams of you forever,
