The Book of My Heart

I carry inside, wherever I go,
A very special treasure
It's worth to me beyond compare,
There is no way to measure.

This special treasure is a book
My very heart the pages
Upon which are inscribed the names
Of the friendships I have made.

The love of friends should always be
Held so very dear
That is why, through eternity,
I will always keep them near.

These names written with a flourish of love
Are a timeless work of art,
For I have each and every one
Written in the book of my heart.

One of my best friends sent me a list of things that describe a true friend~
One was '...The best kind of friend is the kind you can sit on a porch and swing with,
never say a word, and then walk away feeling like it was the best conversation you've every had...'

Your poem was very nice, Terry~
Made me smile~

Terry,
Simply, pure and heart felt.
What a lovely friend you must be.

TerryW~
The friendship that you bestow
comes back to greet you a thousand-fold.
You're 'book' would have to be
done in Volumes by now !

You're special.

Terry, this is perfect,
and your kind heart shines thru in it...
very sweet poem of devotion and friendship.
take care, jm

Well the sun sets gently on your shoulders
And it makes me want to touch you there.
And the light in your eyes makes me feel
Like there's something much better out there
Something kind...
And I know someday I might be looking around
Trying to find some purpose
Well purpose it can't be that hard to find
As long as I've got the wind...
The wind and your love to carry me.
