She looks out upon the water
Wondering what ever happened to her
The smell so fresh and wind so cool
Makes her sight so much farther
Little does she know, one exists too,
Her equal, just across the water

Sometimes he thinks of her,
Sometimes she thinks of him

He looks out upon the same blue lake
Wondering what it will take
To be immortal together
A picture they would make
As waves getting wetter
Getting lost in the memory wake

Sometimes he thinks of her,
Sometimes she thinks of him

If only their eyes, lids open could see
Each other waiting distantly
A perfect mirror of one another
Each, a lifetime waiting patiently
Will that time come? they wonder
Would that it could, one day be

Sometimes he thinks of her,
Sometimes she thinks of him

Sometimes it’s all she can take
When she becomes,
The lady of the lake

This is beautiful, JML...both longing for the other, for what seems an impossible union, yet bound still by their longing. Lovely writing...

Nameless....exactly what i was hoping for, thanks.

Claire....you got it too, about the longing for each other, so close, yet so far. You read my mind so well.

SEA....you always make me feel like giving more. *S*

I agree with all ...but I am wondering is there going to be a continuation piece?
It has me longing to hear of their union.

The lady in the lake
longs for his touch,
praying he too...
wants her this much.
together if only in spirit...
contentment is found.
The words unspoken ...
break the silence...with harmonious sound.
She sits in the sunshine
there by her lake ...
and looks out at him...
his beauty more -- than she can take.
He sends her poems...
from the other shore...
and they wait to see
what fate has in store.

for me...the sweetest gift of poetry is when another poets words inspire me to write.
yours always do...
but even more your poems ...
make me want to be a better poet...
another one of your gifts.
thank you for the inspiration.
stalking you always,

Well the sun sets gently on your shoulders
And it makes me want to touch you there.
And the light in your eyes makes me feel
Like there's something much better out there
Something kind...
And I know someday I might be looking around
Trying to find some purpose
Well purpose it can't be that hard to find
As long as I've got the wind...
The wind and your love to carry me.

i really like this one
i can close my eyes and see the two of you
looking out across the water for each other
very romantic poem
you should put it in a bottle and float it over to her.
i like your style of writing sir

I want to be the face you see when you close your eyes
I want to be the touch you need every single night
I want to be your fantasy
And be your reality
And everything between
I want you to need me,
like I need you.

an enchanting and haunting tale of star-crossed lovers ...

--Kess

Full fathom five thy father lies,
Of his bones are coral made,
Those are pearls that were his eyes;
Nothing of him that doth fade
But doth suffer a sea-change
Into something rich and strange...

--William Shakespeare, from The Tempest
