In the space between moments

0 posted 2000-04-12 11:08 PM

Distant melody begins to float
And newborn spirits yawn
Eyes turned towards the light
Of softly rising dawn.

Music weaves upon the sky
As fluid sound does lure
Hesitant hearts begin to wonder
If life they can endure.

Footsteps fall on barren soil
And one dares to take the chance
For never is life truly lived
Outside the whirl of the dance.

A symphony of emotion swells
As love enfolds eternity
And only when the notes do fall
Heartache can we see.

But with bittersweet harmony
Fleeting wisdom is found
For only through the soul's pain
Can we soar heaven bound.

And as the music fades away
So does human strife
No one regrets the fleeting dance
That is known as life.

Great poem Krista... I think I can see where you got the inspiration for this.   Sometimes, though one just feels like he needs to sit out from the dance for a while.. and just watch and think, ya know?  Excellent writing Krista, much enjoyed

Your poetry sings, Alwye.  A soft velvet harmony this was.

This just dances down the page, as if it's a song itself!  Very lovely words and images you paint in my head...I'm hearing music I believe!     Soft and sweet poetry at it's finest!

A haunting melody you have given us, Krista.  Truly "fleeting" this dance is.  TY for sharing this one.
