WANDERER

I wander through the mist and haze
As Midnight dawns my darkest daze.
Sure to fail, sure to fall,
Both palms open I offer all.

As silence stills the voice within,
As every hope becomes my sin,
I lay my head upon the stone
Of this, my last night all alone.

Watching the stars, all heaven bleeds
Soft winds whispering to my needs,
As all in life ever held true
Slowly separates me from you.

Over the windswept mountain tops,
A sweet spring rain that never stops,
A lost soul nevermore to roam,
Cry me no tears, tonight I'm home.

Sigh, I hope I am wrong thinking this is about suicide, but if I am not, i offer my most sincere condolances. I lost my grandmother 4 years ago about 1 week from now, and it still hurts... I am sorry if your friend indeed took this way out, it doesnt end the pain, it merely shifts it to others   Excellent poem though...

I haven't been around long but you're already one of my favs... poems like this are why.  Thanks for sharing

"The storm rises up when the shadows descend
every beat of my heart every day without end
I will stand like a rock I will bend till I break
till theres no more to give if thats what it takes
I will risk everything I will fight I will bleed
I will lay down my life if thats what you need
every second I live thats the promise I make"

I have no idea who wrote this... tell me if you know. =)

Michael, I don't know what to say, your writing is excellent as always which makes this all the more sad. Your amazing to be able to write and make someone feel they are right there experiencing the situation.

perfect M,
your in my thoughts and prayers,
jm

Well the sun sets gently on your shoulders
And it makes me want to touch you there.
And the light in your eyes makes me feel
Like there's something much better out there
Something kind...
And I know someday I might be looking around
Trying to find some purpose
Well purpose it can't be that hard to find
As long as I've got the wind...
The wind and your love to carry me.

Jeffrey, LOL - I wouldn't wish that on anyone.  Glad you like the webpage too - I will be updating it this month - I will surely let you know when that is completed.

Mistikman, unfortunately, it was a suicide.  It was my stepfather.  Some things I will never understand here, I only know he is no longer in pain and I have to believe he is where he wanted to be.

WhiteNite, your words humble me, sincerest thanks.

serenity, Thank you so much.  I could ask no more of you.

L.D., that is quite a compliment.  That is all I strive for in my poetry is a chance for you to see through my eyes, or feel what I feel.  Thank you so much.

PdV, Indeed.

Balladeer, Thank you sir.

Thank you for for you comments and for your prayers.

I can still feel this one as it applies to my dad.  It's been 18 months since he passed away and soooooo much has happened.  I'm sure that Gen knows whereof i speak.  This is a loving tribute, Michael and thank you for sharing it with me.

In sadness you write such words of beauty. They reach out and touch souls. He is in a better place, with no more pain, though it may be the only comforting thought.

Michael you have such talent to do justice to anything you put your mind to.
God bless ya bud!

Michael, I don't know how this one got by me, but I want to say how beautiful this is...having spoke with this man, my heart aches, as he seemed to be such a warm man.  Who would have thought....?

I just read this again and saw something I needed to see...giving with open palms....and I thought about myself 2 weeks ago, and then I read the rest of your testimony.
God bless you

Robert, I am only sorry you can relate so well to this pain.  Thank you so much for yur words - I'm glad to see your name showing up here again.

Rebecca, My stepfather was in a great deal of physical pain as well as mental anguish.  That one comfort is a great comfort to know he is in no more pain.  Thank you.

Gen, Ty so much.

Kathleen, There was much beneath that one line.  May God bless you too.

Thank you all for the kind replies.

Michael this was lovely and very sad.
I had a friend once who took her own life.
So many times, I thought, why didn't I see
the signs, how could I have helped? I was
so pathetically young and so was she -- and over the years, I wrote a poem to assuage my heart, to tell the world a woeful tale, or just to get it out in the open. I don't know.

Your poem is touching and well written.
