I am a man
One man
And my ideals are both shunned and loved.
I walk
Alone but with many
Through streets of white-hot hatred.
I preach
Of one God
Whose love encompasses everyone.
I bleed
A blood that is red
And I cry
Tears of pain.
I mourn
The same deaths.
I hate
The same evils.
And yet I fight a different fight.
I throw
My hands forward
In desperation, reaching for what seems unreal.
And I dream
A peaceful dream
Of a country united
Where neither color nor gender nor religion
Affect the way a person feels for his neighbor.

Very powerful poem sir!  So glad to have you posting!  I like all the contradictions you made in the beginning of this poem...I am the *queen* of contradictions, so I've been told!  LOL  Welcome to our forum, and hope you stick around!  I'd love to read more from you.

Thanks for all of the kind words!!  Being a young poet(I'm only 17), this gives me a lot of hope for the future.
