Incredible Critters

What bright eyes have these,
like round black marbles,
these tiny furry puffs with legs
all splayed and kicking,
and mouths that stretch
from ear to ear in toothless suckle.

They cry in sound
that crosses a cricket
with a kitten
wild and untamed
yet plaintive and complaining
like hunger.

Mother earth,
where such amazing things are born
and clamor for life
across endless cruel time,
who will feed all the infants
that crawl from dark places
into the light with empty bellies
and no mother?

There are many caring hearts
I know with pleasure,
rescuers of lost and needy little things,
with tiny bottles
they wake at night at each small sound
and give the gift of life.

Incredible  critters
these tiny hand-sized raccoons,
and lucky,
even humans are not
always so blessed.

Martie~
Awwwwwwwwww !  How sweet.
Oh ... sounds like some of those
little critters I'm always rescuing.
Everybody knows ... if it needs to be
fed at 2-4-6 & 8 ... give it to Marge.

We all should remember to take care of
these precious little creatures of God.
And if you can't do it yourself ... then
donate to those centers that do.
We are the life line to so many little
critters of nature.
Thank you, my caring friend, for this.

I just got two new LoveBirds today that
someone brought to work cause no one
wanted them.
So .... 2-4-6-8 ! Bleary-eyed I gladly am !
Love you, girlfriend.

Martie, You have natures heart. We should all do our part to help the little critters, when we have encroched on their habitats. Thank you for sharing this.
