Counting kisses They’re robbing me of needed sleep These visions in my head I think I should be counting sheep I’m counting kisses instead Hypnotic states of wayward thought Occupy my head I try to find one sheep in naught But see a kiss instead Sometimes I click a lamb icon With envisioned fingertips But the window opens up upon A picture of your tender lips So effortless the subtle change In patterns of my sleep That deep repose would rearrange If I were counting sheep I haven’t seen a single ewe Jumping o’re my bed But kisses coming right from you Consume my room instead I am content to toss and turn In sleepless bliss, I’ve said For jumping sheep I do not yearn I’d rather count each kiss instead It’s pointless to assume that I Am bothered with the lack of sleep For I am very satisfied Counting kisses instead of sheep Elizabeth Santos [This message has been edited by Elizabeth Santos (edited 04-10-2000).] |
