Paradise
By: Amy M. Kennedy

I look up at the sky
The most gorgeous blue greets my eyes
The pine trees stand tall and green reaching for the heavens
Paradise

I watch the butterflies chase one another
Without a care in the world…I deeply sigh
Peace has found a way into my soul once again
Paradise

The rays of the sun shine down all around me
The ocean breeze playfully teases my skin
Flowers of every aroma fill the air
Paradise

This day is so perfect
I can hear the birds sing a happy song
Life doesn’t get much more beautiful than this
Paradise

The Carolina day comes to an end
Once more I look up to the heavens
Now the colors almost blind me
Paradise

Orange, red, yellow, purple paint the sky
The sun coming down to rest
Can hear the crickets chirp as night settles in
Paradise

This day makes me think of life
And the awesome power who created it
Overcome with peace I slowly close my eyes
Paradise

"Paradise by the dashboard light. . ."

Pardon the reference. . . the idea is that Paradise can be anywhere. . . and for you, it's that beautiful Carolina moon. . .

Excellent poem, my friend. . .

Amy,
Being from the Carolina's I felt a great since of pride when I read this. It has me longing to go back home to see that beautiful moon.  ( in paradise )

May I say Amen?  This was awesome, Amy.  Some days I feel like heaven is close enough to touch - you capture that feeling completely in this poem.  Beautiful.
