Last night I sailed to Zanzibar,
...across the seven seas,
Danced a dance with Terpsichore,
...upon soft evening's breeze,
I plucked a flower from the skies,
...a rose named Southern Cross,
And sang to her love's madrigal,
...upon her heart emboss,
The signature of all I am,
...of all I'll ever be,
For whilst I hold her in my arms,
...'tis only Rose I see,
I long to feel her soft caress,
...to of her passion's sip,
'Til once again sail seven seas,
...upon night's sailing ship.

I would love to sail this way...too bad my name isn't southern cross or rose! Beautiful poem!

Mike,
This is beautiful!!  How lucky she is....I hope she realizes it.  You give sailing a whole new meaning.  Excellent work!!

This sounds like a splendid dream, one where waking up is kind of a let down. Very nicely written, I enjoyed

Mike~
This is lyrically lovely.
So serene the sailing.
You do have a way of drawing us onboard.

Our sailing ship is tempest tossed
upon swift savoring waves
and there, on deck, my heart is lost
to my captain's bold engrave.

Mike, reading your poetry is always an inspiration, to be sure. This one is exquisitely romantic ... I am very drawn to its seafaring aire.

Of his bones are coral made,
Those are pearls that were his eyes;
Nothing of him that doth fade
But doth suffer a sea-change
Into something rich and strange...
