State of constant confusion!

0 posted 2000-04-09 12:23 PM

If only love wasn't so demanding
If only we were more understanding
If only time could heal a broken home

If only hearts didn't get broken
If only you didn't have to go
If only i didn't have to be alone

In another time and another place maybe we could have shared a life together
But who's to say that even then, it would have lasted forever?
Maybe like fire and water it was never meant to be
Even thoough we all sometimes get the urge to see
Life has always been one question after another
Maybe if we just keep asking we will one day discover
(IF ONLY)

Jeffrey,
This could not have come at a better time.  Thank you for sharing it.  Beautiful words.  We must carry on no matter what...

Lovin' it baby!

That poem describes like the past three relationships I've had all roled up into one. =)  I'm glad they're far enough behind me now that it doesn't bring tears to my eyes.

If it's personal experience you speak from... I feel your pain.

but if there's nothing there to make things change,
if it's the same to you I'll just hang."

That's what we have to do, Jeffrey, is to keep asking those questions. Answers will come. Nice writing.

i've been asking myself the same questions lately about a wonderful lady i know.
my jealousy of your work arises now.  "if only" i had found the words to express my thoughts into a beautiful poem such as this...
very nice.
great work.
