I sit in the silence of my tears, The Room cold and lonely around me... Broken pieces of my heart, Flutter to the floor to surround me... I looked up and for a brief instant in time, I was immobile...stunned with the force of your presence... You tenderly reached across and gently wiped the tears from my eyes... You lingered, Your hand...soft upon my skin... I listened as you began to talk... Your voice singing in my mind... Time seemed to stand still, Yet hours passed us by... We talked of our lives, Our loves... What makes us laugh, What makes us cry... All too soon, It was time for you to say goodbye... We must have said goodbye a dozen times, In a dozen different ways... Each of us holding on, For just one more stolen moment... Go..you cried Please! You know I cannot bear to leave you! I was so scared, I might never see you again... This kind and gentle man, Who wiped my tears away... And found the laughter in me once more... Night after night, I return to The Room, Where we meet in the recesses Of our minds... You take my hand and we soar, Above the clouds cradled in desire... You take me higher than I have ever flown, You bring me joy like I have never known... And for us... Together... Life is Beautiful... 1/29/00 |
