Trail of Tears
Trail of Tears see me crying
inside my heart slowly dying
so my soul left on the wayside
carried away by the river tide
elk bone whistles no more blowing
only an uncertain knowing
silvery tear left on the ground
with loved ones falling all around
our hearts and hands and mouth's now bound
this will now be our last stand
walking through the white man's land

LadyHawk~
Welcome to the circle of friends
here at Passion's.

O'Siyo, my sister.

How in tune with our heritage your recall.
The Trail Of Tears where many fell
lives on in us to be shared with others.
Thank you for this poignant reminder.

You might enjoy a web page that contains
some of my heritage poems.
