O'er the meadow fanned of green,
And sprayed with wistful breeze,
A fallen heart lays in ruin,
Among shadows of the sea.

Lacen gown kissed with dew,
But stained with tear-filled dreams,
Her soul is quietly wading,
Where no trace of moonlight gleams.

Inky waves roll with the night,
Rising with the tide of time,
Silent breaths begin to fade,
As sorrow's grasp becomes sublime.

Darkness folds with icy grip,
As shimmering spirit sinks below,
But just as light is truly absent,
A gentle touch begins to glow.

With grace's mellow flutter,
She's lifted from the blackness,
And an angel's hymn she hears,
A song creating touchable bliss.

So o'er the meadows fanned of green,
And sprayed with wistful breeze,
An enlightened heart now reigns,
Far from shadows of the sea.

Krista, that was beautiful.  You have such a gift... I can never seem to wait to read another poem or story addition.  I like this part.. though it is not the whole sentence... "Inky waves roll with the nigh,              Rising with the tide of time,"  It was awesome!
Your poem was beautiful... you have to write much much more!

 "It is in our aloneness
that we recognize our oneness,
even as the single droplet of water
knows also that it is the sea."Daniel

wow girl...this is exquisite, the imagery is awesome as always in your work...the visions of the sea is perfect...
you know as I was reading this I was thinking this was like a "feminine" version of a poem like Michael wrote about the ocean...
(I hope neither of you mind me saying that)..its meant as a compliment both ways (SMILE)
superb work, jm

The stars shine so bright, now's the time
I close my eyes - soft wind touch my face,
Cool sand upon the place where I once kissed you
And held you close.
Now I will reach for the stars...
Because Oh my love, that's where you are...
Though the storms of black night rage on
I still see your face
I still feel your lips on mine
And though my heart feels all alone without you
I still hear you sing to me
I still hear your voice on the sea...

Great poem Krista!  You built the scene wonderfully in my mind with your delightful imagery.  And I liked how you used the opposite of the first verse for the final.  Wonderful work, Krista.

Krista~
Sooooooo pretty.

'So o'er the meadows fanned of green,
And sprayed with wistful breeze'

Lifted from the shadows ...
and it sounds like you are.
Blessings to you.
