Exchange of words is only
    the beginning of the trade.
I confess that I am frightened by
    the connection the we've made.

My life exposed to you,
I search for a place to hide.
More so then I intended
    my heart is open wide.

Daily fighting demons,
    battling for my soul,
struggling with the throng of thieves,
who keep me less than whole.

Can I give you what you ask for?
Can you give me what I need?
Will I give in to my longing
or the cautions will I heed?

Is the fear inside me greater
than the driving force I feel?
Can the tears begin to cleanse the wounds
and prompt my soul to heal?

You make me want to trust again,
my heart for you for you to know
and yet I hold back, daring not
to love, to share, to grow.

I beg of you, be gentle
as we venture through this part,
I'm drawing on my final hope
to share with you my heart.

Destiny,
new feelings can always be quite fearful. . . I hope that you find what you're looking for

Excellent poem, my friend, I like it

Destiny~
This is quite a lovely piece.
Interwoven hope and doubt.
Cast the doubts aside ...
go for it !

Destiny
this is PERFECT!!!
a very beautiful poem.
the rhyme flow is smooth and the expressions of your emotions are perfect.
hope, doubt, love, ... a poets best sources for inspiration.
very nice job
take care, jm

The stars shine so bright, now's the time
I close my eyes - soft wind touch my face,
Cool sand upon the place where I once kissed you
And held you close.
Now I will reach for the stars...
Because Oh my love, that's where you are...
Though the storms of black night rage on
I still see your face
I still feel your lips on mine
And though my heart feels all alone without you
I still hear you sing to me
I still hear your voice on the sea...
