Past The Gates Of Time ~*Marge Tindal*~ Early in the morning just past the gates of time Smiles the memory of yesterday into this heart of mine Reflecting moments of splendor among the grasses green Lilac's blooming fragrance gracing the air of seem Pausing just one moment to catch the trill of wren Hurrying through the gate back to where I've been One frolic in the springtime of memories etched in stone Engraving now this moment that won't leave me alone Likened to the mighty oak on which are carved our names I stand resilient to the wind until you blow home again Returning from the sea on each new cresting wave Fathoming your love only a heartbeat away Embraced within your hug firmly now on shore Past the gates of time you're home with me once more ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ noles1@totcon.com |

Very touching. I like the way this poem expresses the ever-changing emotions and their relation to the constant, profound ones. Grant that I may not judge my niegbor until I have walked a mile in his moccasians Native American prayer |
