The Prettiness of Pink

Of all the floral springtime hues
Of yellow, red and purple blooms
I love more than the sweet perfume
The prettiness of pink

There’s nothing lovelier I believe
Than Easter dress with puffy sleeve
And little girl in shy naive
And prettiness of pink

A dozen roses sent with love
Red petals soft as velvet glove
But I , myself, am fondest of
The prettiness of pink

I love the dogwood’s lovely bloom
And redbud’s lacey floral plume
My eyes cannot in full consume
The prettiness of pink

Elizabeth Santos

Elizabeth,
From the above I'd say you were in to pink. And since I'm not a shrink, I think,
There possibly could be a link,
To something happened long ago,
Perhaps this could be so?
Whatever I think this poem of pink
Deserves a doublethink.
Love your poems,
Sy

For me, the best imagery is,
   "Easter dress with puffy sleeve
and little girl in shy naive"
You have captured the essence of Easter and sringtime.
Beautifully written.

This is lovely, Elizabeth! *S*

(But your "think pink" comment brought Pepto Bismol to mind. *G* Now I've got to re-read the poem... of course... that's not a tough task! *G*)

Liz, the flowering peach is pink, a special color, and I just saw the dogwood in Oregon--how lovely they are---and this is a lovely pink poem, I think.

Suthern, I should have incorporated Pepto Bismal in the poem, I forgot about that.
Oh well, glad you liked it anyway

Martie, I'm still waiting for pinks. Nice to have you back

Liz,
Lovely images this conjures up for me.  Kind of what Easter and springtime are all about.  Thank you!!!

There are some pretty pink tress in bloom here now, although, I don't know what kind they are. Spring has sprung!! This is a beautiful poem, Elizabeth!

In Charlottesville you'll find tulips aplenty~
And Dogwood with it's beautiful bloom~
All in pink, for our eyes to consume~

If anyone has ever been to UVa, then you know what I mean!  Springtime is oh so beautiful!

Lovely poem Liz!!

Lone Wolf, That's kind of what poetry is supposed to do, and so your comment made me happy, Thanks

Denise, It's about time! It is so lovely, it was worth the wait. Thanks

Marge, you are just so cute. Thank you, dear

Marie, You are probably a week or so ahead of us, and yes, Va. is a beautiful state.
Thank you
