Closing my eyes I can feel the breeze
Letting my imagination freely run
As a solemn dusk sets ‘cross the peaks
In the land of the midnight sun

I know he’s out there somewhere
Living a life as I am mine
Even though many miles lie between us
Our moment is just a matter of time

In him I see a life gone by
between trappings of here and now
Dark eyes that hold a mystery
That met mine in chance somehow

In truth I’ve never seen these eyes
They’ve intrigued me nonetheless
A tender soul lies behind
His every word’s sweet caress

How I long to see my reflection
Within the shine of his loving gaze
As he looks down upon my face
Tucked under his arm for all days

May I never be too busy to help another's load,
Then I'll be drinking from the saucer 'cause my cup has overflowed.

Nicely done.  Enjoyed your poem, as will he wherever he might be.

A challenge well met, Satiate.  Romantic and mesmerizing.  I don't think love understands the limitations of miles, nor do I think you have to view one's eyes to see their soul.  This is simply beautiful.

Satiate~
Glad I was cruising from the
back of the 'book' forward tonight ...
pleased I didn't miss this one.

This is simply magical ...

'As a solemn dusk sets ‘cross the peaks
In the land of the midnight sun'

Doesn't get much prettier than that !
I really do like this.

Satiate,

well done!  You captured the longing for that special someone.  I liked how you kept the poem hopeful to the end.

Ah, yes..the soul-mate out there somewhere. I really believe in that - that we all have that perfect match somewhere. Problem is, more times than not, we never find them. But they are there, nontheless. Good writing, satiate

Mike:  Thank you for the read

Michael:  That's quite a compliment, my friend...thank you for the challenge phrase.

Ruth:  Was in a sweet mood when I wrote it, thanks.

INclan:  Thank you much.  Quite wonderful things can spring forth from hope, sometimes.

'Deer:  Whaddaya mean, never find them??  I've found you haven't I??     (lol)   Thank you for the read, sir

Marge:  Thank you, dear!  Pretty sight, indeed...I've always been taken by it.

All the great poets in Passions have read this poem and already said nice things about it.  So i want you to know, they took the words right out of my mouth.
