Missing You Mom
By: Amy M. Kennedy

Mom...oh how I miss you, my sweet angel from heaven
You came into my life at the tender age of seven
Not my mother by birth, but my mom in heart
My heart is today full of sadness, because we're apart

The Lord took you away, to his kingdom above
Away from the pain, you flew together...like two white doves
I know now you are in a better place, where love is always around
You finally are where you truly belong, eternal happiness you have found

Still the tears stream down my face, as I am here and you are there
Sometimes the pain that I feel is too much to bear
And in those times, I turn my life to the hands of the Lord and pray
One day you and I shall meet again, oh what a sweet day

In my heart you will forever remain
Having an angel in one's live, leaves them never the same
Blessed that I had you, is what I hold onto and gets me through the day
And if I listen real closely I can hear you say you love me
On the same wind that makes the Carolina trees gently sway

amy-girl you touch my heart with this. Im sorry this is a hard time for you...I know you want to share this part of your life with her. Just know she is there, and is SO proud of you. I wrote this a ways back for a couple angels in my life(my two grandmothers)...I wanted to share it with you.

~In The Presence of Angels~

Angels walk beside us...
I know this to be true.
They stand there quietly-
next to me...next to you.

They are not the way you imagine...
Not adorned with wings or lace,
Sent here to guide us-
To light our path towards Gods grace.

Granting random acts of kindness-
deeds of love for which they ask no fame.
Once taken under wing...
Your life will never be the same.

Healing hearts with their forgiving touch,
Our prayers keep them here.
They protect and provide...
Find your peace in knowing they are near.

The only way to see them...
Is to believe and open your mind.
Look for the light that shines in us all...
Faiths gift...the greatest love you will ever find.

Oh, how beautiful, Amy
Not a mother by birth but a mother in heart must have given you so much love for you to write with so much passion. The ending was lovely and made me homesick for South Carolina.

Amy, this is a beautiful message of devotion for your mom. I lost my mother eight years ago, and will never stop missing her. I'm sorry you're hurting. Thank you for being able to share this here.

You guys are the absolute best!!! You have made me smile in the midst of my pain.

Sorrows, thank you for such a lovely compliment. It is esp nice from such a talented poet such as yourself.

Elizabeth...The Carolinas are the best aren't they?! Thank you for your kind thoughts as well. You really know how to touch a person.

Last BUT certainly not least Janet....
Girl, your poem touched a part of me that has kept "strangers" out of for a very long time! Thank you for sharing that with me. It is being printed out and being kept by me forever!!

Love ya guys!

Amy,
Speaking as a mom....I know in my heart your mom is looking down on you and is sooooo proud of you, you have a heart of gold and use it frequently as I was honored to see when my request for "Pooh" was made.  I'm sure my father and your mother are up in heaven smiling and hanging the stars for us tonight.  Take care sweetone.  This is a beautiful tribute to your mom.

 Hold me for yesterday
Kiss me for tomorrow
But love me for today.

Amy~
You're writing from your heart ..
this is tenderly touching mine.

'And if I listen real closely I can hear you say you love me
On the same wind that makes the Carolina trees gently sway'

Beautiful !
