Hidden Love
By: Amy M. Kennedy

The love that I feel inside is so real
But this love is forbidden, not suppose to be
So never will you know, never my true feelings will I reveal
It's not that I don't want to tell you, it's that I'm scared you see

I'm scared that you don't love me too
My passion for you grows more and more everyday
Surely by now you must know how much I do love you
I can feel my feelings about to give way

A part of me doesnt want to know the truth, but a bigger part does
Do you love me or am I just being a fool
My heart is full of so much emotion, so much love
But with love there is nothing set in stone, there is no certain rule

You are my friend, and that I do value
Making me laugh, in the way only you can
Not wanting our friendship to be ruined, becoming something shallow
Still wanting so much to reach out for your hand

Want to take you into my arms and press your lips to mine
However I know this is never to be, only in my head
But oh if you loved me, how that would be so divine.
My feelings you will never know, this poem you'll have never read

From afar I will admire you, with love in my heart
But beside you I will just be your friend
At least still by your side I will be, and not apart
And till the ends of time my love I do send

...when you walked into the room, I saw their faces,
you made it feel like time was standing still...and I felt fascination...
then you turned and smiled in my direction...
and my heart...gave me away.

Well, I am certainly NOT an expert in the love field... but I do know just a bit about repressing emotion.  It's not worth the pain and the "always wondering" in the end... (just my strictly inprofessional opinion there).  I agree with Janet there, your longing and devotion show clearly.  You could give someone something to smile about for sure.

Amy~
A very tender render from you.
Share those thoughts with the one
who causes you to have them.

Love flourishes when it is
brought out to play among the
hearts of others.

There's nothing scarier (or better) than falling in love with a friend.  Take the chance! Tell him!

 It matters not how strait the gate;
How charged with punishments the scroll;
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.

Rejection can be a terrifying thing. Easy to say DO IT!...harder to actually do. Ley your heart be your guide. When there is a right time to let him know, you will know it....

Hey Aimster --

Read this right after reading your post to my one and only creation, which is kinda ironic.  I spent a lot of years wishing I had asked for that kiss -- only to find out (to my great surprise and delight) how much she wanted it all along! Don't go through life wondering what might have been!  Go get it!  Or at least give it your best shot.

Loved the poetry.  I look forward to reading more from you...

I guess I'm of a different mind here. Telling me scare him, so I would flirt and see how he responds.  If he flirts back, well you know your answer.  Good Luv, oh I mean Luck! And I like your poem.
