This is the third installment of "Love on the Net"

      As Lovers Meet

I strolled in and sat up on a stool,
I collected my thoughts, played it cool.
I had met so many, each time I felt a fool.
Each had left me empty filled with sorrow,
I oft hoped, promised myself, “Tomorrow”,
Tomorrow promises time I could borrow.

From behind the bar came a glass of wine,
I really didn’t want, ‘twas just passing time.
Others were at the bar, they were feel ‘n’ fine.
I glanced through the mirror to see her face,
Under my shirt I felt my heart pick up the pace.
We could never talk with the noise of this place.

She walked up beside me and gave me a squeeze
My arms all around her there was a promise to please.
I stood there a second my heart to my knees,
Her dress was red nearly down to her feet.
The air filled with a charge as finally we meet.
Her perfume, strangely different, not too sweet.

She ordered a drink, no doubt to settle her nerve,
My eyes were so wicked they noticed her curve.
Her face filled my vision, she was more than I deserve.
She laughed so easy, her smile put me at ease,
She twirled on the stool, her dress revealed her knees.
We talked for while, on nights like these time just flees.

We agreed that this was no place we could  talk,
Through the door into the dark, ever so slow we walk.
My mind raced ahead.  If I try to kiss her will she balk?
Faster than a bullet we arrive where we must part.
I reach out for her, she leans in to me, she can feel my heart.
Her mouth against mine, our lips a perfect fit, as kissing we start.

Sweet kisses, a  long embrace, I gaze into her  face
And wish for more time, a more perfect place.
A couple walks by, she’s embarrassed it reveals her grace.
A face a little red but her heart shows delight,
Two lonely people find a promise, this moonless night,
As love begins to grow in our hearts, a place out of sight.

BillyB~
I've enjoyed this.
Very nicely done.
Especially liked this line ...

'Faster than a bullet we arrive where we must part'
