Colors of April

My heart is dancing at the splendid sight
As spring time colors fill my longing eyes
Of redbud pink and apple blossom white

Along the wooded stream in filtered light
The birthing pastel colors tranquilize
My heart is dancing at the splendid sight

From out of winter into floral bright
From yellowness of daffodil to rise
Of redbud pink and apple blossom white

New petals burst in sunny morning light
And dabble rainbow colors of the skies
My heart is dancing at the splendid sight

I wait for him to share in spring’s delight
In visions of our love I fantasize
Of redbud pink and apple blossom white

The stars will be ablaze one magic night
These April moments I will memorize
My heart is dancing at the splendid sight
Of redbud pink and apple blossom white

This is perfect! The meter, the rhyme, the imagery--everything!

Denise, As I recall, the monthly villanelle was your idea, remember? Thanks for the "beautiful"

Balladeer, I never thought free verse was easy, and the few I have written don't look like they were. As for structured, it is really easy, and seems to me, you were the one who taught me all about villanelles and sonnets
Thank you for the lovely comments

Vandana, Very sweet of you to read and comment on so many of my poems. Thanks, vandana

Marge, Your compliments overwhelm, thank you so much for such remarks

Elizabeth, I certainly appreciate your remarks, Thanks

Whtdove, So glad you liked this. Well then, let's dance! Thank you, dear

nan and Cheryl Lynn, then please join us! Thank you both

Doreen, From you a "fabulous" is humbling. Thank you

Liz
