The pictures hang on ev’ry wall around
And perch upon each tabletop in show
It’s quite a crowd and memories surround
Completely bathing me in warming glow.

Politely they take turns relating days
Gone by; each tale retold pure gold contains
Despite the passing years, time’s gauzy haze,
Unscathed, their brilliant luster yet remains.

I dust them off, return each to its place
Arranging captured moments tenderly
My soul is kissed by ev’ry smiling face
That’s beaming forth a cherished memory.

Within my mind dwell treasures that are real
Possessions that no thief could ever steal.

Beautiful sonnet, Denise. I'd heard you got both hands cut off in an accident and couldn't write poetry anymore   I'm glad to see that wasn't true    Welcome back

she said I dont know if I've ever been good enough,
and I'm a little bit rusty, and I feel like my head is caving in.
...and I dont know if I've ever been really loved by a hand thats touched me...
and I feel like somethings gonna give...
and I'm a little bit angry.

This one is so lovely, Denise...I'm so sentimental about photographs, too, and take such pleasure in selecting just the right frame for each. Such good writing, here, Denise...very touching.
