( There was a day, not long ago, that I truly believed I would never write nor "live" again. In the depths of this painful time, I was invited to a magical place by a dear friend, that place was Passions. Here I was blessed to meet a group of the worlds kindest, most caring people...the poets of Passions. I would just like to express a sincere word of thanks for your kindness, your caring, and your ongoing support. You're a wonderful bunch and I love you all. This is for you   )

In Healing Rhyme

Your words were fashioned into blades of steel
And from my gaping wounds, my poems bled
When sliced so deep, I thought I’d never heal
You turned and left me lying there for dead
I hemorrhaged out the pain in every verse
And tried to ebb the flow to no avail
What was my cure, I looked at as my curse
As cleansing tears from my blue eyes, they fell
I cried out to the God of heav’n and earth
He sent me friends to help me in my pain
And though you left me doubting my self worth
Through kindness, I began to live again

Your words of steel, they cut me like a knife
But rhyme and friends, they brought me back to life

< !signature-->

There are only two ages of people...living and dead and you all look about the right age to me

Ruth, I look more at you as a gift from God to me for a treasured you friend you have become. Your poetry is some of the best I have seen and we are blessed to have this gift of words flowing from your mind so eloquently.

Passions is a two way corridor, and you, my friend have given more than you have received. Giving also heals, and surely you have come to see your self worth refeleced in the recipients of your love and your words. It is we who thank you, Hoot

Passions is a family. Each day we find our hearts related to new members of that family and when you joined us, we knew you as our sister! There is a phrase "babies are bits of stardust blown from the hand of God" that could also be reworded as "poets are bits of stardust, blown from the hand of God, until they come to rest together".....here is the resting place for all that magnificent stardust. You shine here, my friend! Your loving heart and your beautiful poetry!

Ruth, this is very touching and speaks of your heart and gentle soul. You have given MUCH to MANY here, myself included, always encouraging and offering understanding.
I thank you for that...and for inspiring this in me...
for you...with respect and admiration

We all are here...in Gods plan,
each of us having a part.
Living each day, finding our way,
searching for love, and other gifts from the heart.
We each have a purpose...
all things happen of Fate's reasons.
Friends and poetry are golden...
constant as the changing seasons.
There are few things in life,
upon which we can depend...
The wisdom of a poet,
the devotion of a friend.
In this place called Passions...
we are blessed with an abundance of love.
The healing power of our words--
a gift granted us from above.
The bonds born of poetry,
go well beyond our verse and rhyme.
We become a part of one anothers heart,
Friendships engraved in love for all time.

Poet deVine and Elizabeth Santos spoke best I feel about the contributions you have made to those in passions, both as a poet and as person.  You inspire us with your poetry and you encourage us with your kind words and caring heart.  You were one of the first persons to respond to my first poem posted in Passions.  And you have continued to be gracious with your comments.  The good inside you escapes everyday in the beauty of your poetry and kindness you show to all.
Promise you will live forever.

Ruth, some wise old fellow once said "The more you give - the more you receive". I can think of no other situation in which this is so true. If you have received so much from Passions, it is indeed because you have given so much more. Your poetry, input, advice and friendship shown to all is unmatched by anyone I know. I consider you a dear friend and am proud that you consider me one also. Thank you so much for being here to share this small corner of life with us. We are all the better for it.

Ruth,

I appologize for not resonding until now.  I read your poem before there were any replies. I really wanted to answer in poetry but could not find the words. After many hours of frustrating deliberation I have distilled it down to this, my humble offering:

our wounded Hoot_Owl
"Who" her single question
"We" our only response

Dearest Hoot,

it's painful to see you have had to go through this, but...Having been down a few dark roads myself, as most humans probably do, sometimes it has to get pretty dark before we can see the light of day again.

And as we heal, we realize that it was for the best that these changes occurred, that this is what fate had in store for us.

I think you are very brave to post this poem. And I also see healing.  You are strong, you will soar again.

Corinne

"I hemorrhaged out the pain in every verse"

You've not bled alone Ruth. Friend to many, enemy to none. You've also been the cornerstone by which some of us have maintained their sanity, (I know, I know, didn't work ALL that well with me, but hey, you tried your best!) Sincerely, you've been one of the best friends a person could ask for. I've never met you when you weren't ready to offer your shoulder or a smile. And hey, you put up with me, and everyone knows what a chore that is. Bleed away Ruth, I'll always be here to give you a transfusion!!!

There is nothing that I could add to give your words justice so I will echo the others and offer you the hugs of the angels as you yourself are one.
