THE KISS

I never knew how powerful
A river’s flowing stream
I never knew that so much love
Was captured in a dream

My heart was not prepared to find
The sweetest edge of bliss
The greatest of life’s wondrous gift’s
Sat poised upon a kiss

Nor could I well imagine
How succulent the wine
I never knew of love’s desires
Until your lips met mine

Our spirits came together
With a kiss’s tender touch
Our lips expressed the words
That I desired to say so much

And now the door has been unlocked
For love to wonder through
This kiss has opened up
The secrets of my heart to you

May love now spread it’s timid wings
And soar up through the mist
A lifelong venture humbly born
In the power of a kiss

So very sweet. I loved it--and it made me want to kiss my sweetheart's lips...

L~
Suggest you retitle this "First Kiss", now line 1 has a typo (correct it)quickly
Line 5 has a misspelled word -surprised you missed it!
Line 8 has a word that seems out of place.
Line 10 doesn't rhyme at all. Perhaps use a better word instead?
Oh, and april fools to you!
best regards,
bboog

Roniece
Thank you for such lovely comments. I appreciate your reading and am glad you liked the poem

Lucky, Yep! But it depends on who's doing the kissing

I got bbooged again!
With my sloppy poet pen
It seems he wants perfection
And relishes correction
But I don't get unglued
Whenever I'm bbooged
I just say thank you dear
And make it very clear
There is certainly no mystique
On Open six we don't critique
I think he knows the rules
And now pulls an April Fools
And so on his behalf
I say thank you for the laugh
I don't mean to boost his ego
But he is my true amigo
Gracias y buenas noches

You can have the silver, you can have the gold.  I'll take the kiss of my lover over wealth untold.

Liz your work is so fine, like the sweetest kisses I have ever known.
