From time to time when the person you love is not in touch it feels as though they are testing you to measure your level of commitment.

The Loverís Test

My Lover gave a test
To find me at my best.
It was not a quiz to note,
To measure if I emote,
Some proper lever of affection,
Some portrait of reflection.
No!  Rather she sought to find
Some glimpse into the mind.

Lovers from some distant shore,
Share a dance of common score.
To twirl in dreams of romance,
Taking risk and taking chance,
In hope to find one whose soul
Has power to make them whole.
At first I did loathe the test,
Fearing the measure of my best.

But now have come full round,
Hearing full the pulsing sound,
Of my Loverís beating heart.
Knowing she will not depart
From one whose devotion played
The score to which her heart swayed.
In rhythm of motion in the dance
A symphony of sweet romance.

To pass or fail not mine to tell
Inside her loving heart, behind the vale
Where only she is known to sail,
Will come the answer that will tell.
Confident I stand, I will not fail
To capture her behind the vale.
Enchanted nights to dance and sail
Into dreams that dare not fail.

Patient, casting bread into the sea,
Hopefully waiting, will it be?
Until in dreams she comes to me.
Like foaming billows on the sea,
Rush gently, persistent to the shore,
She will find respite behind the door
Of oneís whose heart is seeking more,
Waiting, waiting, waiting on the shore.

Teaching my heart the need to stay
Holding my fears against that day
When home to me she will run
To twirl and sway in the dance
Like those who have the chance
To end the lack of sweet romance.
So, here I wait, still not knowing,
If the fire in her heart is growing.

wow!!   this was sensational! i am sure you will pass the "test" with flying colors. your poetry is nearly flawless, yet mixed with enough unperfectness if you will to give it wonderful character! this was really beautiful.
