Invitation

My darling, oh my love
have I shared with this day?
Have I yet held and whispered
hugged the world go away?

Itís true,  I love every
in countless, small ways.
In the chores that you do
even the dingy that you say.

Loving through troubles
each day, with itís true.
Warmed by sweet memories
of youth spent with you.

Memories of beginnings
a few decades ago.
Our love freshly planted
with promise to grow.

Our coals are now cooling
oh yet, smolder they do...
a twinkle mixed with touch
old flame bursts anew!

My darling, oh my love
still; nay always, my best friend.
Shall we adjourn to our chamber
loose the kisses to begin?

thank you all for the input.
lol i rate my work on my
darling's tear factor. This one
the tears were flying before the
first stanza was read and the last
(thanks for the confirmation, Hoot!)
provoked the desired result, hmmm
somehow i see more emotional
triggers built into my fiction...   b

Another testimony of how God works in very mysterious ways. Husband of mine you wrote this long before I was part of your life and while ex Mrs. Burt of the recent past and your self thought this was for her there are so many clues here that your soul mate had not appeared anywhere but your dreams and unconsciece thoughts yet. So when I read this and saw a youth spent together and countless other clues in this I really had a moment of sadness for your recent ex wife and also a moment of pure gratefulness to her because she truly does not know what she gave up and what she is going to miss out on with you. Happiness and love are so much more than the good times in the sack and making love is so much more than sex I really really feel sorry for her because she will probably never get the opportunity to know what true love and happiness is again. Too bad hind sight is 20-20 and THANK YOU GOD that she was so blind.

In love with you more now than ever and looking forward to the deep lasting love of growing old together. Meet you on the porch to rock the night away
