Legacy

Which stars have kindly blessed you all alone
With radiant love that you were dreaming of
The greatest of affection you have known
Where did you find the sweetest song of love

It was in a mother’s lullabies

In all the grand adventures of your youth
The travels and the circles round the earth
Where did you find the source of greatest  truth
And wonders of the finest charm and worth

It was in a little child’s eyes

And in the course of life’s most weary toil
In search of splendid dreams and happiness
So tirelessly you plowed the fertile soil
Where was the inspiration for success

It was in a tender baby’s cries

What did you do to make a better world
An achievement of importance we can see
As life’s moment of sunset is unfurled
What, I ask, will be your legacy

A mother's love that never dies

How apt Liz, it's Mother's day here in the UK on Sunday, but my mum lives in the states, don't you Mother Hen?...

I wish all mum's did feel like this, sadly, they don't....

Super poem though and I bet you're a smashing mum as well! and saying that, most of the women on here are great mum's you can tell by the way they talk, the way they think, the way they love! So...a great tribute to the mum's on PIP as well...oooops...I'm rambling again..

What a wonderful legacy you speak of, and a nice poem as well!

Liz-

An amazing piece again! You have so much talent and wisdom. This was such a lovely tribute to Moms all over. I liked the title...it is what originally caught my eye. It most definitely was worth the read! Excellent!

Thank you all for your very lovely comments. I agree with Rainbow, there are many loving mothers here at passions, and Rainbow, I love your ramblings.
