Here I sit, here I see the green pastures of my country.

So quiet here on this hillside, overlooking the relics of the past.
Old ruins protrude like broken teeth into the sky, the wind whistles gently through the grass, reminding me that I am alive.

My mind is everywhere, but nowhere, too much to think of, thoughts come and go into my mind like ships in patchy fog, loom then vanish.

Answers for my questions I seek, not form logic, from anywhere- hoping that this tranquility will provide me with insight.

I feel alone, comforting in a way, history taught me well- as I watch the roman legions march home..

This is very good, Slashed soul. The similes are very descriptive. Welcome!
