Written by one who has stood amongst ancient stone monoliths and heard the ghosts of history speak his name.

-----

Anger Stones, world's splintered bones
Shinning bright in the pale moon light
Where wailing wind whispers past pain

Stand by them late to learn your fate
Where voices speak a future bleak
For the dead know more than your name

No, listen not upon that spot
To hear the moan of angry stone
Know not the truth that they proclaim

Shun the future and its torture
That strips innocence from ignorance
And vanquishes hope from life's game

Yes, ignorance can be bliss, 'they' say. This is a bit scary. Well written, very smooth!

Andrew~
This is magnificently moving.

The monolithic stones have many
tales deep in their caverns.
The legends of the past and
the visions of the future are moaning.

'For the dead know more than your name'

Thank you for sharing such a powerful piece.

Andrew, m'boy, you have been missed. Wonderful re-entry...an excellent haunting melody with a clever rhyme scheme. Nice job

Very nice, Andrew... So, who needs crayons when you can paint a picture such as this with words..

Delving into history can be quite an overwhelming experience, can't it? Your poem reminds me of the feeling I had when I stood beside the remains of a triceratops - knowing that creature lived in our world long before the Great Rocky Mountains that now protect the remains of its kind... Nice work, my friend..

CLM: Thank you... that was the feel I was going for.

Lady Red: Always a joy to see your mark... My dear, Gavin would tell you to beware what ghosts say.

Lady Suthern: I've e-mailed you the verdict.  Thanks for checking in.

Lady D: Thank you for your kindness.

Lady Marge: I bow to you and yours with thanks.

Sir Balladeer: I am most honored by your words. Many thanks kind Sir.

Lady Nan: Thank you so much... but I love my crayons too.  ... I know what you mean standing next to those ancient beasts.

Lady Hoot: Right back at cha my dear.

Again, Thanks to one and all... you are all such an inspiration. Peace!
