The ash trees loom silently
O'er the mellow green
Fallen leaves drift gently
Their vibrance now unseen.

The scent of crystal rain
Mingles with my tears
My empty soul slides downward
For remembrance is so mere.

I sink to my trembling knees
And gently trace your name
As I touch the granite stone
My pain cannot be tamed.

I cry out to the heavens
And beg to go on with you
For how can life continue
When a soul is torn in two?

The gentle ash trees watch
As my love is swept away
And my fragile spirit crumbles
Beneath this rain-brushed day.

I wrote this because I had a dream last night about the one person I love more than anything passing away.  The feeling really shook me.

It must have been a very vivid dream...you tell it well...so glad it's only a dream!

Great writing Krista, it's too bad such great writing comes from such scary nightmares.  I really liked this one.  Thanks for letting us take a look.

Quite an interesting dream it must have been. I do study dreams, and inturpret them, so if you have any questions, or would like to explain the dream in detail I could help you decifer what it means for you.

Wow, this is so sad, krista.  Wonderful imagery...  I almost felt like I was there.  Beautiful and dark.  Lovely poem.

Martie- Yes, I'm quite glad it was only a dream..and as most dreams do, it faded.  Thanks for you comments.

Dusk- Well, you're welcome for havin a look, my friend...but the question is, do you really want to know what lays in the recesses of this mind?

Lucius- Hmm, that could indeed be interesting..thanks for your comments also.

Michael- Thank you so much, my friend.  It means a lot coming from you.

Severn- Thank you!

Alwye~
This is very, very lovely.
It flows so gently with sincerity.
