Razor’s Edge

Touch me not with your sinister sorcery
Your poison has invaded my veins
A fool, you have played me for
Release me from your cursed clutches

Love as played me as a vulgar violin
And chosen someone without consent
It smirks at what I am now shielding
Dancing on my handicapped heart

What a cruel grueling game to play
When so unsuspecting was I
How could you have snuck in
When I had closed all damaging doors

Go please, and leave me at peace
Take your damn deliberate dart
Look! My heart bleeds
From a kiss of love’s razor’s edge

There has to be far better times ahead ... I know ... when and who is your question ... and why bother and no thanks and never again ... but I pray your day comes soon ... and true

Do you live by the book, do you play by the rules
Do you care what is thought by others about you
If this day is all that is promised to you
Do you live for the present, the future the past...

Hoot, thank you very much. Coming from a poet such as yourself that is a great compliment.

James, thank you. Sometimes when emotions get the better of you they can be all three: intense, lovely and sometimes sad.
